To all former-Bigfoot District Scoutmasters
We are extremely excited about the upcoming Bigfoot District Camporee held in conjunction with the 100 year celebration of Scouting. We have a lot of things that will be happening this year so you should definitely plan to attend.
There will be a fishing derby for the boys on Thursday and the only requirement is that the boy who wins must have participated in the service project that morning. Also, you will see some links above. One is for utensiless cooking, Friday for lunch we will have a feast - sharing every ones food, so be prepared to share your food with those around you. The attachment will have tons of ideas for you You will also find two release forms for the state. We will be on state land and they require that all boys and leaders have signed this form and their parent or guardian. One is for the Adults - you just need to sign it. All the adults can sign the same form but the boys need to get a form signed for each individual boy.
Please note that if you do not turn in the release forms you will not be allowed to participate in this Camporee. You can turn them in at District Round Table on Thursday May 13th to the people listed below. Call them if there is a problem. We MUST have them absolutely no later than May 23 for you to participate, so please work to get these in to us.
Paul Bushman 484-1515
Ralph Cook 466-9600
Nick Cook 250-9795
Alan Jones: 484-8208
Some of the activities require some things that you need to bring with you.
1. Please make sure that you have 1 compass for every 2 boys.
2. A global positioning system (GPS) if you would like to participate
in geocaching.
3. Work gloves for the boys to participate in the service project.
4. Please bring firewood for your troop as there is none on site to use.
5. Cost per person will be $10.00
Yours in Scouting
